Last year I decided to decorate our home for Valentine’s since we have a little one who would enjoy them.  This year we began decorating near the end of January.  Here is a picture of just one of our decorations:

Valentine’s Day can be so painful for those who don’t have that special someone in their lives.  Personally, I never did care for man-made holidays.  They make more people sad than happy.  Think about Mother’s Day for instance.  People who have bad Mothers, or Mothers who have died, or those who cry out to be a Mother … that day is painful.

For those who think everyone else around them is enjoying some special romantic meal, flowers, chocolates, and the like … I’m praying for you.

Personally, I would much rather focus on the LOVE that is unwavering, the LOVE that is constant — not fickle.  The love of God.

Since we can’t think like God, we can’t truly wrap our minds around the DEPTH of LOVE that He has for us — HIS creation.

Isaiah 55:8
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD.

So many of us would have different lives if we could RECEIVE His love, TRUST His love, and BELIEVE in His love for us.

1 John 4:8
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

For most of my life I could understand logically that God loved me, but there was some type of disconnect when it came to fully receiving that knowledge in my heart.  I guess I expected more judgment than love.  I was waiting for the gavel to come down on me.  Who knew my wickedness better than me, right?

Deuteronomy 7:9
Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments.

He loves us!  The creator of the universe and all that we can see with our natural and spiritual eyes LOVES US.

1 John 3:1
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

1 John 4:9-11

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.  Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Are you feeling LOVED yet?  I am!  God LOVES me!  He really does LOVE me.  No matter what I do, I am His child.

This song might be new to some of you, but listen to the chorus especially.  HE LOVES US, OH HOW HE LOVES US … OH HOW HE LOVES …

Be blessed today as you focus on God and His love.  Enjoy the song …
