Howdy Ya’ll! It actually feels like FALL! I’m having a great time enjoying some cooler weather here in North Carolina! I hope this post finds all of you well.

I wanted to share a scripture that my pastor mentioned in his message on Sunday. His entire message was good, but this one scripture JUMPED out to me because of where I am in my life right now. Once I read it, I had a difficult time moving on with the rest of the message.

Deuteronomy 8:17-18
You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms His covenant, which He swore to your forefathers, as it is today.

Look at these same scriptures in the Amplified Version:

And beware lest you say in your [mind and] heart, My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.

But you shall [earnestly] remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

NIV states that God has given us THE ABILITY to produce wealth whereas the Amplified states God has given us POWER to get wealth!

These scriptures absolutely stood out to me. 1. I had never noticed them before; 2. I know God was speaking to my heart.

The past few years have been financially tough for so many people. We are in the grading and development industry — and you better believe ALL contractors are fighting for jobs. The BIG national companies can bid jobs cheaper than the smaller companies like ours, so it has been GOD ALONE who has kept us afloat. Truly, He has provided “just in time” — never early, but on time.

During our corn maze season, my husband and I have commented several times what a great team we make. God definitely placed us together and we are gifted differently. It has been fun to see how our seasonal business flows while he and I work together.

Ok, back to the scriptures. I definitely had an “ah ha” moment! God has given us this land to use and the possibilities are endless!

During this season, I have watched my friend Molly — who is INCREDIBLY TALENTED — work and create a niche for herself. Truly, her possibilities are endless too. She is an artist. She painted all of our farm murals and also does the face painting during the corn maze season. She could really be on demand if she wanted to put herself out there for birthday parties, etc … Even making murals for other Agri-tourism farms out there.

Just watching her and watching our friend Keith (who is also very creative), I have seen those scriptures come to life. It is true — GOD PROVIDES A WAY FOR US TO CREATE WEALTH.

I know some of you are reading this … searching for jobs that don’t seem to exist, but I believe that God gives each of us talents to use. Yes, talents for the Kingdom, but also in the world.

I pray each of you will be able to see the talents and creativity that God has given so that you can help provide for your family.
