Psalm 90:17
May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.

Yesterday I canned squash from our garden.   My sweet and generous friend Tammy came over and brought her grandmother’s PRESSURE cooker.   I have to say it was intimidating!  Steam whistling and rocking a little weight that sat on top of the lid.  Yikes!

I needed to know how to “can” and save the food from our garden and it was a good lesson for my daughter as well.

Here is Princess helping me fill the jars.

The jars with bubbles in this next picture are still boiling. I had just removed them from the pressure cooker.

Yes Lord, please bless us with Your favor and establish the work of our hands in Jesus’ Name.

There is a great feeling that comes with seeing the end result of your work.  Toiling the soil, planting the vegetables, watching them grow, then preparing them for your family.  What a blessing.  I pray this will be the first of MANY jars of vegetables that I store away this summer.

I expect the work of my hands to be a blessing spiritually too.  My greatest heart’s cry is to lay hands on the sick and see them immediately healed — all for God’s glory!   Yes Father, please bless the work of my hands.
