If you have ever dealt with rejection in your life, the enemy is more than happy to send someone in your path to toss an arrow now and then.

Satan tries to get us when we are young so that our perception and our self-worth is skewed before we have a chance to be rooted in God’s Word.

When I was 15, I heard my Mom tell my boyfriend’s Mom, “I love Beth, but I don’t like her.”   Don’t worry, I have forgiven my Mom for that comment, but words like that are used by the devil to sting and hurt us.

They can set us up to STRIVE for acceptance (even if we don’t realize it).

Have you found yourself wounded by authority figures in your life?

Do you feel like you are never enough — like you just can’t measure up?

If you can honestly answer yes, then this is what I say to you (and to me).

WHOSE REPORT WILL YOU BELIEVE?

So what if you never receive a pat on the back from an authority figure?   All that matters is what God thinks of us.  He knows our hearts and He sees what we do when nobody else is around.

I once heard a prayer leader tell a very wounded lady, “If you were the only person on earth, Jesus would have died for you.”   I believe that!

HE LOVES US!

The other night during worship I saw myself like a child holding onto Jesus’ Hands as He spun me around.   “How could He love me and want to spend time with me?” I thought to myself.  Even though logically I know that God loves me, sometimes that little girl who is never good enough tries to come back.   Don’t get me wrong, I know my Mom loved me and I know she did the best she could.  But even through someone’s “best” the enemy looks for cracks to attack.

Romans 8:38
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

John 1:17
For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 3:18
And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is.

1 John 3:1
See how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us His children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know Him.

God made each of us special, unique, and in His image.  Each person has a destiny and a calling.  Each member of the Body of Christ is exactly that — a member to a whole.

You are special!

You are a child of God!

You are important!

You belong!

You are ENOUGH and GOD LOVES YOU!
