Today is the 60th annual National Day of Prayer!  Did you know it “almost” didn’t happen this year?  It must be a big threat to the kingdom of darkness because there was quite a battle to stop it, however the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals found it to BE CONSTITUTIONAL!

Personally, I won’t be able to attend any of the group events since I will have my daughter and a friend of hers with me (two 5 year old giggly girls), but I will be praying in agreement with others.

The scripture for this year is Psalm 91:2

I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
         My God, in Him I will trust.”

If you don’t know where to go or what to pray, please check out the National Day of Prayer web site:  Click Here.  <— That web site is a great tool.  Be sure to check it out.

Our country needs prayer.  There are more needs than I can probably list, but here are a few off the top of my head:

  • People who have had damage from the storms, lost homes, family, etc …
  • The Christians in our nation need to take a stand and live moral lives.
  • The bible needs to be our moral compass.
  • We need God’s mercy where the weather is concerned across our country.  Fires, flooding, tornadoes … farmers losing crops.
  • Protection against terrorists attacks.
  • Our government needs divine wisdom and conviction.

The list could go on and on.

I pray God will stir the hearts of Christians all across this nation to fall on their faces and pray for HIS Will to be done.

For my TWITTER buddies, you can tweet prayers with the hashtag “#NationalDayofPrayer” — if you’re interested.

Have a blessed Thursday everyone!  I pray today will cause a great shift towards holiness in our nation.
