I began to read in Jeremiah today and didn’t get past these scriptures:

Jeremiah  2:26-30

 “As a thief is disgraced when he is caught,
   so the people of Israel are disgraced—
they, their kings and their officials,
   their priests and their prophets.
They say to wood, ‘You are my father,’
   and to stone, ‘You gave me birth.’
They have turned their backs to me
   and not their faces;
yet when they are in trouble, they say,
   ‘Come and save us!’
 Where then are the gods you made for yourselves?
   Let them come if they can save you
   when you are in trouble!
For you, Judah, have as many gods
   as you have towns.
  “Why do you bring charges against me?
   You have all rebelled against me,”
            declares the LORD.
 “In vain I punished your people;
   they did not respond to correction.
Your sword has devoured your prophets
   like a ravenous lion.
Sometimes I feel that food is like an idol in my life.  Even if I’m eating healthy my thoughts are on food.   Here is an example if I did Intermittent Fasting, “Ok, I didn’t eat all day, so I can have _____ for supper.  I can also eat ____ because I didn’t have any calories.”  
What about a regular day, “I can eat ____ for breakfast because it doesn’t have white flour.”  
Isn’t that still bondage?  My mind is THERE.   
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
I want to think about THOSE things.  Not dwell on food — whether healthy or not.  You know?
Those scriptures also made me think of so many people who don’t give their lives to God, but they sure do shake a fist at Him when disaster strikes.
For some, their career is their god.  All of their hope and trust is placed on what is in their bank account.  But when the money is gone — who will they blame?
Jeremiah was delivering God’s Word to the people of Israel, but haven’t we ALL rebelled against God?
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
I’m sure most of you reading this post have your FACES turned towards God — not your backs.  But there are those I know who have their backs turned to God.  They aren’t concerned about their salvation.  They are floating through this life enjoying sin (because they have no conviction).  I am scared and concerned for those I know.

Believe it or not, the church we once attended hired a seminary graduate as the youth leader.  HE DID NOT BELIEVE IN HELL.  What?  Trust me, there is heaven and hell.  God doesn’t want ANY people in hell.  It was created for satan and his demons, but He gives us free will.  He gives us the choice.

If you are reading this and you are one who has turned away from God, NOW is the time to turn towards Him and call on His Name.  
Don’t say, “Oh I believe in God” because …
James 2:19
You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
It takes more on your part.  You must believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins.  Ask Him to come into your heart.  Give your life to Him.   Maybe you were raised in a Christian home.  That means nothing when you face the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  One day You will meet Him face to face.  YOU have to make the decision for yourself.
