Today I link with Iris at Grace Alone to share my thankful heart.

Colossian 4:2 declares, “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”

Iris shared thanks for the basics in life. I am definitely thankful for what some would consider the least little blessing.

We were watching a documentary the other night and my 3 year old understood for the first time that some people don’t have food. She kept saying, “Mommy, we need to pray for people who don’t have food.” I am grateful for her heart of compassion and prayer. So with that said, here is my list that doesn’t begin to scratch the surface of my thanksgiving.

  • I am thankful that I can breathe on my own. My lungs receive the right amount of oxygen to keep me healthy and strong.

  • I am thankful that my senses work and I can fully enjoy everything around me.

  • I am thankful that I can walk, stand, and sit. Before God healed my back years ago, there were times when I couldn’t do those simple tasks without a lot of pain.

  • I am thankful that I have food, heat, clothes, and shelter.

  • I am thankful that I have a vehicle.

  • I am thankful to still live in a land that is free, but even if that changes — I am free in Christ and nothing can bind my soul.

  • I am thankful for my family and my friends.

I truly am a blessed woman.
