How can I even say THANK YOU?!?!? I had no idea!!! The precious people at the Internet Cafe have been taking nominations for the top 100 blogs for 2009 and I didn’t even know about it! I would have nominated so many of my friends if I had only known. Where have I been?!?!?!

Anyway, THANK YOU to everyone who nominated me. I am so honored and so blessed! This truly made my day. Thank you, thank you, thank you, and THANK YOU!!!!

Again, to God be the glory!

Now back to part TWO of a teaching on our spiritual senses. If you missed yesterday’s post and are interested, click HERE.

Yesterday I left you with the thought to always obey those little “checks” we get inside because the Lord speaks to us in non-verbal ways too.

I also dangled a little information about smelling things in the spirit realm. I know that is probably really stretching some folks, but I can speak from my own experiences that this happens. I have smelled evil before and it is horrible. I have friends who have smelled heavenly aromas and I think I did once. I was awake in the middle of the night and suddenly one of the sweetest smells passed my nose. It wasn’t soap or perfume — something I would recognize in our home. I immediately felt like it was something holy.

Jeff Fenn shared of a time when he was on his face, worshiping the Lord. He suddenly had a vision of Jesus standing right at his face. His robe actually rubbed against Jeff’s face as He walked away. Jeff said it was the most beautiful aroma he had ever smelled. (Again, his SPIRITUAL senses were activated.) Jeff began to question the Lord about this and his eyes immediately fell on this scripture:

Psalm 45:8
All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad. KJV

Changing direction a little. We also receive information from the Holy Spirit in the spirit realm.

Luke 2:26
And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. KJV

Sometimes when the Holy Spirit reveals things to us it is just a knowing deep in our spirit. Some may think of this as a “hunch” or a “premonition” deep inside. This ties into the scriptures I shared yesterday about PERCEIVING something.

I think the more traditional folks get a little leery because they have seen some flakiness in the charismatic circles. Unfortunately, we all have to learn and just as babies we make mistakes. How many times have you heard someone say (or perhaps have said it yourself), “The Lord said” or “The Lord told me” … just to find out it DIDN’T HAPPEN the way you expected?!?!?! I could write about book on that subject alone. I have definitely been guilty of misunderstanding what I perceived. We are human and we see in part. It is definitely easy to tie our desires onto what we perceive from the Lord. (I would much rather try and make a mistake then never try — never stretch.)

As I shared from Hebrews 5:14 yesterday, we must EXERCISE our SENSES so that we can understand and discern.

In Acts 27:10, Paul perceived that the voyage would be destroyed AND that LIVES would be destroyed.

Acts 27:10
And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives. KJV

Paul was busy PERCEIVING, which was from the Lord. He was perceiving correctly, but we don’t always see the entire picture. Did God change his direction? Did prayers change the course?

Look at verses 22-25:

And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship. For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, saying, fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God that given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. KJV

Something changed. God sent an angel to Paul and he was able to encourage the men that their lives would be spared. I don’t know if it was due to prayer or if that was God’s original plan. Either way … he perceived, but the outcome was not as he has originally thought.

Jeff has found in his ministry and walk with Jesus that the Lord often reveals satan’s plans so that we can pray. Those plans may come to pass if we don’t intervene in prayer. He gave many examples of situations in his own life that were interesting.

I can share that one of my first prophetic dreams happened when I was in high school. If I had ONLY KNOWN to pray against what I had dreamed. I dreamed I was at our high school and had found out that a guy named Freddie had been injured in “shop” class (you know, where the kids use saws and such). I dreamed he had cut off his thumb. I didn’t even know a kid named Freddie. The dream struck me as strange so I shared it with my friend as we drove to school. THAT DAY, a guy named FREDDIE was in SHOP and he cut off the end of his THUMB!!!

Jeff pointed out when God reveals something “bad” to us, there is still a measure of peace. When satan reveals something bad, there is fear.

There was SO MUCH MORE to these teaching CD’s. This is enough to wet your appetite. IF you are interested in ordering a copy of these CD’s for yourself click HERE.

Thanks for sticking with me. I pray God will tune our spiritual senses in Jesus’ Name.
