There is just something different about people who love Jesus!

Have you ever noticed?

For those who keep up with me, you know that the “care” for my parents has been ramped up this past month due to my Mom being in rehab.  During this time I have spent hours in medical facilities — first the hospital, then rehab.  Trust me, I have looked into the eyes of the staff for reassurance and comfort.   I look for that same Spirit of God who lives inside of me.

The believers are like a breath of fresh air and HOPE in those places.

Matthew 5:12-16
You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Christians are like cities of lights on a hill.  Our light cannot be hidden!
I have been grateful to see the LIGHT of Christ in the eyes of others in these places!
My friend Angela at Free Spirit Haven made a comment today on her post about someone calling her spiritual.  Ha.  I had the very same comment made to me at my Mom’s Rehab.  After the physical therapist discovered who I was in Christ he said, “I KNEW SOMETHING WAS DIFFERENT ABOUT YOU!  IT WAS SOMETHING SPIRITUAL!”  I knew what he meant.  His discernment picked up on something about me.
Luke 11:34-36

The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.  Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness.  If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.

Do you ever look deep into someone’s eyes?  I always do.  I want to see what (or Who/who) is within them.

As Christians, we are to let our LIGHT shine so that others are drawn to the Lord.

Strangers should be drawn to us and notice something “different” about our lives.  Not because we are striving to appear a certain way, but because they get a sense of the One we spend time with — our Lord.

Do you remember Israel Houghton and The New Breed’s song:  Let the Redeemed of the Lord Say So?

Here are some of the lyrics:

Oh that the church would arise.
So that we would see with Jesus’ eyes.
We could show the world heaven.
Show what it means to be His.
To be formed in his likeness.
Show them they have a purpose.

To be salt and light in the world, in the world.
To be salt and light in the world.
To be salt and light in the world, in the world,
To be salt and light in the world.

Enjoy the song and go share your saltiness~
