stillwaters

I had a friend ask me if I was able to rest in the Lord.

Hmmmm.  I thought I could.

Matthew 11:29
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Lately I have received two prophetic words concerning rest from people who don’t know me.

Psalm 37:7a
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;

Just like most people in this world, I have responsibilities as a wife and mother.  Yes, I have responsibilities in our home — dishes and clothes are on a continual cycle:  DIRTY, WASH, DRY, CLEAN, PUT AWAY.   The grass needs to be cut.   Chickens need to be fed and watered.  Meetings, volunteering, etc …  BUSY.  This doesn’t include my desire to take classes, read God’s Word, read other books, and pray.

REST

Do you know how to rest in the Lord?

Do I?

Psalm 116:7
Return to your rest, O my soul,
For the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.

Some of you may have heard about something people call SOAKING.

Basically, turn on some sweet worship music and just rest in God’s presence.   This takes time too, but now I understand that this is something I MUST have in my life as a priority.

I was at the point where at night I thought I was awake.   I knew what was going on in the room around me, but I would suddenly get nudged by my husband to realize that my body WAS asleep.  Why was my spirit so wound up?

My spirit hadn’t had time to rest.  After pouring out and pouring out, I needed to be refilled.  My body received rest, but the soaking time is more for my spirit.   Does that make sense to you?

I have plenty of soaking music (just haven’t taken the time to use it).   Right now I am listening to Julie True.  Below is an example of her music:

Do you know how to rest?

I am learning.

Happy Monday Everyone!
