Psalm 40:1-3
I waited patiently for the LORD;
   He turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
   out of the mud and mire;
He set my feet on a rock
   and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
   a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
   and put their trust in the LORD.

Waiting

I don’t know that I can actually say I wait “patiently” but I do find myself waiting and waiting and waiting on God’s timing.   His timing is rarely the same as mine.  Have you found that in your life too?

Even in the times I ran off course, God has been faithful to pull me out.   There have been slimy seasons in my life where my own flesh-filled desires were in control.

Romans 8:5a
Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires …

Habits, stupid choices, unmet needs, open doors, whatever label you want to use — I’ve been there and done that.  BUT GOD has set my feet upon a rock and given me a firm place to stand.   I am who I am because of Him and His bountiful mercy.

I am grateful!

I pray that somehow God will use my life to point others to Him.
