I made it!  Yesterday, I didn’t taste one morsel of pound cake or one ounce of chocolate ice cream (my FAVORITE) sitting in the freezer door.  I didn’t pop a jelly bean or taste a chip.

Zechariah 4:10a
Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin …

I know many of you have been on this weight loss journey with me over the years and you’ve seen me go up down, back and forth.  I finally get off of sugar and white flour then BOOM, one slip up and the race is on again!

Of course it is much easier when I can keep only healthy things in our home, but I have a MIL who lives to bake cakes/cookies to share with others.  God bless her.  Then of course my husband has a sweet tooth and loves to bring this stuff in the house too.  There goes my healthy environment down the drain! (Of course, nobody is FORCING me to put it in my mouth …)

Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

S – Sure, I’d love to eat that tasty chocolate ice cream.
E – Eat it and then wear it on my body – argh.
L – Love myself enough to DENY my flesh!
F – Fix this issue once and for all.

C – Christ.  Through Him I can do all things!
O – Out of my system white flour and preprocessed foods!
N – No, I shouldn’t ever allow that junk back in my body.  BAD.
T – Trying to learn to run to GOD for comfort.
R – Running to Him.
O – Obedient to His Word.
L – Love the Lord my God with all of my mind, WILL, and emotions.

So I face another day.  It is snowing outside and I’m praying God gives me strength to walk in self-control I really want to throw the pound cake in the trash. No, before you ask — I can’t.  It is my husband’s and I don’t think he would appreciate it.

Thanks for your prayers.  I need them.  :o)
