Well, it has been a long time coming!

I haven’t really had a hairstyle change in YEARS.

In the 80’s I had bangs, but bigger hair — taller on top — wider on sides.

It took me a long time to get away from the BIG hair and go “flat” …

But it recently dawned on me that I basically have had the same cut.  Sometimes I get it a little shorter, sometimes I let it grow so long that I can’t stand it anymore.

Every 7 weeks I go to get a trim and some high lights.  Well, after all of this time my hair has gotten more and more blonde.  I was tired of it!

Today I walked into Mitchell’s Hairstyling with a plan.  I asked my friend Debbie to color my hair darker under the bottom.  Once that was decided we had the plan of growing out my bangs so that they would swoop over one of my eyes.

Are you ready?

Here is my new look.

Ok, my friends on Facebook pointed out that I wasn’t smiling in the photo.  I wasn’t even thinking of smiling.  I just wanted to take a picture of my hair.  Sorry — my lack of smile doesn’t mean anything.  I love my new hairdo!

I decided to take a shot right now as my daughter takes a bath.  You can see the darker streaks in this shot.  I added a smile for ya.

On a totally different note, when I went to that conference a couple of weekends ago I heard Adrian Beale remind us about the power of our words.  For some reason, when he said, “Whatever we speak out of our mouths — WE WALK INTO IT,” I immediately thought of this visual:

Imagine having a mouth full of powdered sugar (yum).  If you cheeks are puffed out full of sugar and someone squeezes your cheeks, sugar dust will go out of your mouth.  As you move forward, you will walk right into that dust and IT WILL STICK TO YOU AND YOUR CLOTHES.

Isn’t that visual a great reminder of our words?  Whatever comes out of our mouth will either birth life or death — blessing or cursing.

Proverbs 18:20-21

A manโ€™s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled.  Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
I just wanted to leave that little nugget with you.
Have a super blessed Thursday!
