Girl…it's a battle every day. Maybe that's not true freedom…I believe I've been delivered but still at times I make a conscious choice to overeat. I just have to keep seeking Him. Thank you for sharing your struggle with us, I could all too well relate.
That doesn't surprise me. Every time I decide to give something up I love by way of food or drink, I find it staring me in the face! I am an emotional eater so giving up chocolate would be very hard for me!

Chocolate is definitely a weakness of mine, too…it's just so yummy and it's hard to resist, but I'm working on it. I enjoy every lesson you share with us…I always learn something and come away feeling so refreshed and blessed. Love ya!

Look what you are gaining from this? Look what the Lord is revealing to you through this.
Teachable moments! Stepping stones towards our success.
When I would falter like before, when it came towards food, I would plummet straight into the fridge. That slip up would cause me to forget how far I've come, and go straight back into captivity.
Than the Lord started to reveal these were 'teachable moments'. He was trying to reveal some truths in this.
When I failed, what I perceived as failure, the Lord revealed to me that these were stepping towards towards my success.
He brought to my mind about Thomas Edison. 1000 or more failures before the light bulb came to be. Thomas Edison stated that through those failures, he was one step closer to success.
I'm sorry I'm rambling on girl, you KNOW me so well,,I'm chomping away here,,LOL.
I encourage you.. I ENCOURAGE YOU…you CANNOT, I repeat CANNOT be set free from this stronghold. Making a conscious decision NOT too will not get you through it. It is when we finally say,,Lord, I can't resist this chocolate. Oh, on my own, I may go for a day, a week a month, but I will evenutally bow down to it. It is ONLY THROUGH YOU JESUS that I will be truly set free.'
Beth, no matter how many times I tried to give up that stronghold of food, I couldn't do it. Praying, crying, praying, begging, crying…
Girl, God KNOWS your heart! Do you know what a powerful testimony you will have over this chocolate bit? Do you know that one day girl you will look at chocolate and think..'wow Lord, it does not have a pull over me'…Chocolate will no longer control, your WILL will no longer control….you choice will be God's way when it comes to chocolate.
God in His mercy and grace has caused chips to make me physically sick..lol. LOL…Your weakness is chocolate, mine was chips!

I love listening to your voice and watching your vlogs. The Lord is the only One that will satisfy our souls. As we look to Him, He will fill the emptiness that needs filled. How awesome is that message! Thanks so much for sharing your heart. So, it really is not chocolate that is evil? 🙂

Beth, I know I've done things like this before too. I know I shouldn't but I choose to do it anyway. Then I feel bad andd guilty. At least, I'm learning to pause first and really consider that I have a choice to make. And more and more I pray that I will make the right choice.
I so agree with you about Jill. She is such a great example to me too even though I'm not a mom. But she lives a life of trusting God with everything. I'm learning so much from Jill's husband Scott with his bible teachings.
I know what you are saying. I find when I have strayed from God, other things that were not a temptation become one. When I am close to Him, those things are not an issue at all. Funny how that works. I can't help but be reminded of that verse… can't remember the reference, but the one where we will not be able to be snatched from our Father's hand. Snatch means taken away. We can stray from Him ourselves, but when we are close to Him and near to Him, Satan can do nothing to snatch us away from that. 🙂 At least, that's how I interepreted it.
I don't really care all that much for chocolate but there are other things that I consider a weakness. I am an emotional eater. When I'm bored, I eat. When I'm sad, I eat. I have always been small but I've noticed that within the past year the scale keeps creeping up. Obesity runs in my family on both sides so I have to be careful. I believe you when you say that food is used as a filler for something that's missing and it shouldn't be that way. We just have to keep praying about it!
