It is time for me to link with Beth at the Power of Your Love to memorize God’s Word. I am so excited to do this Meme each week. It is another avenue to pull me towards different scriptures. I love it!
Last weeks verse was from the book of James.
James 5:16
Therefore confess your sins to each another and pray for each other that you may be healed. The prayers of a righteous man are powerful and effective. (NIV)
I absolutely love this scripture! Confessing our sin is a humbling thing, but it also exposes hidden darkness to the LIGHT! I am so blessed to have a great supply of powerful praying women at my fingertips. I have heart-friends to whom I can share the ugliest part of my heart and they will still love me. Isn’t it interesting that confession (and I believe that includes repentance) comes before healing? Confession without repentance would be like bragging about the sins you committed, right?
This week’s scripture is from Romans.
Romans 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus …
That is a comforting scripture that I have stood on many times! Satan is always there to condemn us, so if you are a Christian and you hear condemning thoughts in your mind — STOP THEM, CAPTURE THEM and REMEMBER this verse. Anything that doesn’t line up with the word of God is NOT truth.

I use that same Scripture yesterday after listening to a very condemning message toward a group of people. I prayed for the person and for those whom her words may have caused people NOT TO be open to CHRIST!
The difference between condemnation and conviction is one is from the enemy and one is from the Holy Spirit. One brings correction and growth the other brings hurt and a closed heart.

I love them both. I often see people that refuse to forgive others yet they expect forgiveness from God. Who am I to judge? We all make mistakes.
These are great verses and I love the way you reminded us that we need to confess so the dark can be dispelled. Confession brings about healing. That's the order God gave us. Thanks for reminding me about Romans 8:1…I often hear condemnation and I KNOW it's the enemy…but remembering it's the enemy in the moment…that's the hard part!

Yes both these scriptures are such reminders of God's promises. I love that he has given us this venue to lift each other up and pray for each other. It is a real blessing.

I'm hoping to keep up my memorizing this summer! I usually memorize the scripture while I'm waiting for Jeremiah to get out of school. I have to be more dedicated!
