Today I link with Angie at Free Spirit Haven to share prayer requests.

Please pray for:

  • Stellan, Abby, and so many other children in our blogosphere who are battling illnesses.
  • baby Skylar — God would bring everything in her little body into perfect balance and alignment before she is born — making her complete and whole.
  • people battling cancer — including my Dad and our friends Steve and Randy.
  • the elderly — for them to have JOY, HOPE, AND A SENSE OF PURPOSE AND MINISTRY. Please pray that the children of the elderly would have mercy and compassion on their parents.
  • our nation — for God’s mercy and that the Christians would RISE up and take a stand.
  • our president — for him to have the FEAR of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
  • for missionaries around the world — for their protection.

Also, I just became a volunteer at the Voice for the Matyres link. If you would like to volunteer, click HERE.

Would you take a second and lift up these people?

Featured Prisoner – Le Thi Cong Nhan

  • Location: Vietnam
  • Arrested: March 2007
  • Days Imprisoned: 769

In May 2007, Le Thi Cong Nhan, a Vietnamese Christian and lawyer, was sentenced to four years in prison followed by three years of house arrest. Nhan was arrested and sentenced alongside Nguyen Van Dai, a Protestant church leader and lawyer. They are accused of a wide range of crimes; such as “conspiring with terrorists, in their efforts to promote human rights efforts, including religious rights and democracy.” They are also accused of compiling “evidence of Vietnam’s suppression of the Protestant religion and providing it to the U.S.-based Committee for Religious Freedom in Vietnam and the U.S. embassy.” Following Nhan and Dai’s sentencing, the Vietnamese state news agency accused the lawyers of “posting information on the internet … [and] painting biased and distorted pictures of the country and its internal affairs.

Police Raid On Baptists

  • Date: April 08, 2009
  • Country: Azerbaijan

Three Baptist women were detained and fined for “illegally spreading Christianity and other faiths” in Azerbaijan on March 25, according to Assist News Service (ANS). The Baptist World Alliance (BWA) reports the three women were charged after police raided a Baptist religious gathering in a private home in the central town of Agdash, where parents had been invited to send their children to listen to Bible stories. Approximately 12 children were present.
A report by the European Baptist Federation (EBF) stated the raid and the detention of the Baptists has had widespread media coverage, which has included the disclosing of the addresses of those detained and fined. Elnur Jabiyev, General Secretary of the Baptist Union of Azerbaijan, described the public disclosure of the addresses of the detainees as dangerous. “Nationalists will know their addresses. The police should not have given journalists this information,” Jabiyev said.

Please pray these faithful women would not be deterred in their commitment to the Lord. Pray God would place a hedge of protection around them and give His angels charge over them. Pray also for these impressionable children; that they would not be consumed by fear, but turn to the Lord in faith.

This prayer email just came in regarding Bill Johnson:

Please Pray for Bill Johnson

Friends and Family,

This week we had a surprising health situation come up with my Dad, Bill Johnson of Bethel Church in Redding. So I am writing to give you an update and a target for prayer.

Last week Bob Jones called and was concerned about my Dad’s health. As a result of Bob’s call my Dad went to the doctor to have some things checked on. He has had a hernia in the area of the abdomen that has caused some issues and discomfort. In checking out the hernia the doctors felt a surgery was needed the next day to fix it and felt good about the recovery. In preparing for the surgery they ran a routine blood test and had to cancel the surgery due to him being anemic. This set off another series of tests to determine what was going on. One of the tests involved checks for colon cancer and happened this morning. The results from this test show that his colon is in good health and he has no cancer. So, Yeah GOD!! They are going to run some more tests to see why he is anemic.

I had a dream last night and in the dream my neighbor was standing by his barbeque and there were some pretty big flames coming out of it. I was concerned that the flames would start a fire on my property. So I went and talked to my neighbor and he insisted that everything was fine. So I went back to my property and the flames got bigger and the wind started to blow the flames onto my property. Now I was really concerned and I told him that he needed to do something about his barbeque but he insisted that everything was ok. Then, out of nowhere, all these catholic nuns showed up on my property with rakes and shovels and they were making a fire line of protection around my property.

Part of Bob Jones warning was that the prayers of the church would be crucial in victory. So we are asking that you continue to pray for perfect health and life in my Dad’s body-that the hernia and anemia situations would quickly be healed and resolved. We are also asking that you pray from a position of strength and faith in the goodness of God for our family as a whole. Thank you.

We will keep you up dated as we know that some many of you are partnered with us in the Goodness of the Kingdom.

Blessings,

Eric Johnson
