I am guilty of decorating my house a certain way, then leaving everything in place for the next 10 years or more if I like it.  Lately, I have switched things up a bit.  In doing so, I prayed, “Father, please give me a fresh perspective so I can see a new design.”  And as always, God was faithful.

Sometimes you can have your eyes wide open but truly do not see.  The answer can be as close as the nose on your face, but unless the Lord removes the scales from your eyes, you can be spiritually blinded (we all can).

Years ago when I was leading a Women’s Aglow meeting, my entire lesson that I had neatly typed before me went blank.  Seriously, all I could see was gray.  The words disappeared!   The Lord covered my notes because He wanted me to follow His leading instead.    That was NOT a comfortable feeling, but God brought me through.

So is it possible to have eyes and not see?  YES.  A resounding YES.

I’m sure each of us have areas in our lives that we need Father God’s vision.   I for one always need His clarity and direction.

Mark 8:18a
Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear?

Father, please give us eyes that SEE and ears that hear.   Please give us Your perspective and Your heart.  We need You in every area of our lives.   Use us as vessels for Your glory.   In Jesus’ Name.  Amen.

Today I am linking with Lisa-Jo Baker for her 5 Minute Friday gathering.   She provides a prompt and we write for 5 minutes.  Nothing planned, no editing — just writing to see what comes out.   Today’s prompt is:  SEE.
