I’m joining Gypsy Mama today for 5 Minute Friday. This is where we write for 5 Minutes … no planning or editing, just writing to see what comes out. The topic today is: TRUST.
Start 5:56am
I had a dream the other night that I approached an intersection. I saw a whirlwind to the right of me — just ahead. I hesitated, but then said, “Ok, I TRUST you Lord” and I stepped inside of the whirlwind.
TRUST
That is a word I use a lot around here with the Lord. So many things are out of my hands and I choose to trust God with each situation. The main “situation” in my life is caring and providing for my parents. The burden isn’t that I have to provide day-to-day care, because we pay an agency to be there 24/7, but the financial responsibility weighs on my mind sometimes. When it starts, I find myself saying, “Lord, it is in Your Hands. I am trusting that YOU will make a way.”
Another situation on my mind is the condition of this world and the crazy decisions our congress makes. What type of America will our daughter know? TRUST.
I certainly pray that the people of America will repent and follow Jesus, but what if they don’t? TRUST. We were born for such a time as this. None of this is a surprise to God.
We are to trust God with childlike faith.
These little lyrics are running through my mind, “Trust and obey. For there is no other way. To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.”
Do you trust Him?
Stop: 6:01am

I like when you said this, “None of this is a surprise to God.” This is one reason why we can have peace in the midst of chaos. He sees the whole picture!
Thanks Eileen! I agree. Thank you for visiting me today!
Confession: I have been singing that song all day! I love that you thought of it, too! 🙂
and stepping into a whirlwind….perfect imagery of how it feels sometimes, isn’t it. when life overwhelms and still we take that step of trust.
beautiful.
thanks for sharing your wonderful post!
all for Him,
Nikki (simplystriving)
That is neat that you had that song on your heart too!
Thank you for visiting me and commenting!
Bless you!
Beth
This right here says it all —
“None of this is a surprise to God.”
We worry & stress, but He already has a plan. We just need to listen. Easier said than done, though.
Amen, you’re right about that. Much easier said than done. :o) Thank you for visiting me! <3
Thank you for reminding me of the old hymn. Those words pretty much sum up what I need to be singing and shouting every day. Blessings friend.
Me too Alene. Such simple words. God help us to do them. Have a blessed day!
yes, trust! i love your dream – God is speaking loud and clear in that one. always so encouraging when He speaks to us while we are sleeping, isn’t it? it is probably my favorite way He speaks. be filled with courage!
my recent post: get me a lock… a big one.
Thank you Charis. It is funny, God has given me prophetic dreams since I was young, but I don’t always have the interpretation. Thankfully I have a dear friend who is gifted in interpretation!
God bless you!
The song in my head today is “Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus… just to take Him at His word.”
I like how you mentioned America. It’s really easy to forget that God is completely in control as we watch things crumble around us.
Thanks for the wonderful words today!
You’re welcome Katie! Thank you for visiting me. Have a great day!
He is the only One I can trust, in this fallen world. His is the sweetest name, worthy of my trust. I pray for our government continually, that their hearts would be turned to the Lord.
Amen my friend.
