Yesterday I listened to a podcast by Ryan Wyatt with Abiding Glory Ministries.  I didn’t get to finish it, but this one statement stuck in my heart!

Ryan said, “Don’t wait for the anointing!  Do it THEN the ANOINTING will come!”

Amen!  I know this is true!  For instance, as most of you know I love to lay hands on the sick and pray for healing.

Sometimes I see them healed immediately before my eyes.  Sometimes nothing happens.  When nothing happens, does it change what Jesus told us to do?

Mark 16:15-18
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.  Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.  And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;  they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

The answer is NO — it does NOT change the commission Jesus gave us.

So many of us have a desire to do certain things for the Kingdom and so many times we do wait for the anointing to rest upon us.  How many years do we waste?

I have heard many examples of those who are known for being used by God.  Heidi Baker with Iris Ministries for example.  She laid her hands on everyone who needed healing. It was a LONG time before she really began to see people healed and set free.  She continued to do what Jesus commissioned her to do and the breakthrough came.  If you aren’t familiar with Heidi and her awesome ministry in Mozambique, click on her link.

The devil definitely tried to discourage me with my own family.  My own parents have health issues, but I would pray for others and see them healed.  Over the years I have given this “concern” to the Lord.  HE is the healer — we are just the conduit.  If I pray for someone and don’t see victory, it is between that person and God.  It is not my responsibility.  But it IS my responsibility to pray.  It is your responsibility to pray too.

So, what are you waiting for?  Begin to lay hands and people who need healing.  As a believer, you are called to do this.
