Bonnie Gray, the Faith Barista, asked us to share a moment we felt close to God recently.

Ok, it is the “RECENTLY” that is stumping me.

Do I see God’s grace and Hand in every day life?  YES.

Do I love Him?  YES.

I KNOW I am close to Him because He is the Vine and I am a wee little branch.  I can’t help but be close to my Vine.

John 15:5
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

I seek my Lord’s Face and He is always on my heart and on my mind.

According to the online dictionary, the definition of ABIDE is:

1. to remain; continue; stay: Abide with me.
2. to have one’s abode; dwell; reside: to abide in a small Scottish village.
3. to continue in a particular condition, attitude, relationship, etc.; last.

I do continue in a direction towards my Lord.  My heart and attitude are always turned towards Jesus.  I fail many times, but dwell in His Kingdom.   So in my opinion, I DO abide.  I AM close to my God.

I have been convicted lately about the lack of quiet time I have had in the Word and just in “being” with Him.

I can’t continue to live off of yesterday’s “manna” — nor do I want that.

I need fresh revelation from my Lord.

Today I was thinking, “Anyone can write about MY husband, but unless they are intimate with him — commune with him — they don’t know him like I do.”  It is the SAME way with the Lord.  We can write about Him each day on our blogs, but unless we spend time with Him and hear from Him — then we don’t have the type of intimate relationship that I know God desires us to have.
THAT is where the “RECENTLY” comes into play.

I KNOW that I am close to Him, but do I “feel” close right now?

Y’all, even though I’m a SAHM (stay at home mom), my days have been SO BUSY.  Now that our precious daughter has started school, perhaps I’ll be able to find more time to meet with my Master, my Deliverer, my Savior, my Friend.  I yearn to dance before Him and fall on my face before Him.

How can I explain my love for this Lover that I have never touched in the natural realm?
Song of Solomon 2:10
My beloved spoke, and said to me:  Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away.

Song of Solomon 5:4
My beloved put his hand By the latch of the door,And my heart yearned for him.
Ok, so now — just focusing on my love for Him, I FEEL CLOSE TO HIM.  How can we stay away?  How can we not LOVE and ADORE our Lord?

Thank you Bonnie for pointing my thoughts towards my Beloved, my Lord!
