So many Christians don’t walk in victory because they don’t read the word of God for themselves (Joyce Meyer).
What a true statement! I can only speak from my own experience, but when I was a child I was never taught spiritual truths. I was never taught about Jesus or the Word of God. Even when I started attending church on my own at age 11, I was never instructed to read God’s Word.
Hosea 4:6a
My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.
For as far back as I could remember, I was fearful. I’m sure I picked up fear in the womb and it continued to grow as I did. I was shy and wanted to hide.
If you have read my testimony at the top of my blog, you know that when I turned 18 my life flipped upside down when panic attacks rendered me helpless. Let me correct that statement. Actually, I THOUGHT I was helpless UNTIL I began to learn about my AUTHORITY as a Christian.
Satan had destroyed my self-esteem and tried to destroy my mind. He wanted me to believe that I was losing my sanity, but let me tell you that GOD’S WORD IS THE TRUTH. He [God] DID NOT give me a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and a SOUND MIND (2 Timothy 1:7).
All of those years of torment only pushed me closer to God and deeper into His Word.
Oh how I wish I could teach everyone who is bound and hurting to DIG INTO GOD’S WORD and find her/his freedom!
James 4:7
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
That is a spiritual principle my friends. SUBMIT YOURSELF TO GOD. RESIST the devil AND HE WILL FLEE from you! That is a fact folks. I am a living testimony of it.
Don’t despise the years of digging out of the pit. As you learn and as you overcome, you are building stepping stones to guide others out of the dark places. As many years as I felt satan (I intentionally don’t give him the “honor” of capitalizing his name) stole from me, I learned the POWER of God’s Word. I learned the AUTHORITY we have as believers. And by the way — I am telling Abba Father that I want those years BACK! All of the years I was tormented, I want those years back in FREEDOM.
Luke 10:19
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Do you hear that? This is for you. Place your name in the scripture. God has given YOU — all Christians — AUTHORITY to overcome ALL the power of the enemy! Do you believe this? Do you realize that our battle isn’t against the people around us? Do you know that there is an unseen realm that is even MORE real than the world we see with our natural eyes?
Ephesians 6:12
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Don’t let that scare you. The God who created all that you see is GREATER than the enemy. There is POWER in the Name of Jesus. There is POWER in His blood that was spilled for us!
Don’t perish for lack of knowledge. If you stumbled upon this post today, perhaps God wants to draw you deeper into His Word.

I just recently came across Joyce Meyer on tv, and I really like her. I'm reading and learning the best I can. lol…you know that! And thanks for being someone I can ask when I don't understand something. 🙂

I use to listen to Joyce every morning while getting ready for work, then they changed the time slot so I don't get to hear her anymore.

I am currently reading my first book by Joyce Meyer. I can't say I'm a fan of her writing style but the message is great and one I need to apply.
Oh yeah, love this truth. I know I
can always come here and get a good
Holy Ghost word. I like Joyce a lot.
She tells it like it is and doesn't
pull any punches–just like you.
I find most Christians do not know
very much about our authority in
Christ. We aren't supposed to just
sit back and let the devil and his
gang walk all over us. Jesus didn't
spill His precious blood so we would
have to stay in sin and sickness.
We have to rise up and take the
Kingdom and all He has given us by
force. Satan isn't going to play
nice. The Christian walk is hard
but we can win if we know who we
are in Him.

Good word! B & I were talking this morning about how other people unintentionally say things that bring fear & negativity in your life, that can give the enemy a foothold. We have to know what God says and stand on it to counter what the devil is saying. It's easy to believe the lies because they're all around us, it takes some faith building on our part to say I'm going to trust what God says no matter what!

I remember Joyce Meyer and the many good hours of instruction I listened to her and read her books back in the late 80s early 90s. She is so fun to see in person but solid teaching and powerful and power filled.
So thankful for God's Word and the great opportunities I've had to dig in His Word and out of the pit! But sometimes we have too much head knowledge and no heart experience.
