What a fun fourth of July we had!  I hope everyone else in America enjoyed the celebration of our country and the beauty of the veterans who served and sacrificed for our nation.   While I was at the beginning of the parade route waiting for it to start, my husband watched a veteran in his 90’s receive 6 medals!  He couldn’t tell me about it without getting emotional.  I know I would have cried!  What a different world it was in that man’s time and what a different country he fought to protect.    I wonder what those veterans think of the current state of affairs.

This is a photo of our decorated Kubota!  We drove it in the parade and won 2nd place for our decorations.  It was a lot of fun.  My friend Angie is in the passenger seat and I was driving.  We had my daughter and a friend of hers throwing candy out to the children from the back.  It was a lot of fun!

The winner was a local man who also won last year.  He had a golf cart with some flags on it and a blue teddy bear.  Hmmm.  I think it was rigged (ha), but that is okay.  I told Angie that only God knew why it was important for that man to win.  Maybe it affirms him in a way that we don’t understand.   Angie and I certainly had fun trying to beat him and will try even harder next year (ha).     (Below – my daughter’s friend on the left and our Princess on the right.)

Angie and I shared lots of laughs!

Of course you can’t have the 4th of July without fireworks!

 Or without s’mores!

To put the icing on the cake, the weather was perfect.  It was nice and COOL!  We even had to wear sweatshirts in the evening!  I loved it!

I have some exciting news!

Are you ready?

My husband has given us permission to get a PUPPY!   Some of you may remember that our sweet yellow lab named Peanut died this past April.   We have been on a hunt to find another dog for months and now we are waiting to pick up our baby yellow lab!  This time we are getting a whiter colored lab (though he is still considered yellow).   We aren’t 100% on what we will name him, but are leaning towards RUFUS.  Ha.    This is NOT a picture of our dog, but he will look just like this:

I pray all of my American friends had a good holiday weekend!

Happy belated Canada Day to all of my Canadian friends.   Better late than never, eh?

2 Chronicles 7:14

If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
