knockdoor

I haven’t posted since Sunday because I have been busy asking, seeking, and knocking.

Matthew 7:7-11
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.   Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?   Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?   If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

These scriptures have been very important to me over the years.  Back in the early 90’s, I sat in our linen closet with my Bible opened to these scriptures.  I had been crying out and searching for more and more of God.  I had also asked for a particular gift from the Lord.  I wanted a prayer language for one reason in particular:

1 Corinthians 14:1-2
Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.   For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

Of course I desired prophesy, but I also wanted to pray in tongues so that I could speak directly to God without my flesh getting in the way.  If no one understood my prayers in tongues — then even satan didn’t understand and that was even better!

That day I sat in my closet and reminded God, “You promised Lord.  You said IF we asked, we would receive.”   That night, God gave me my prayer language.

He is so good to us!

I am on another mission of digging deeper, pressing in … tapping my roots into the Living Water that flows.    Wow, I can just see a tree planted beside a beautiful river — roots stretching and reaching to tap into the life force!

That is what I want to be like, a tree planted by the river.

Psalm 1:3
He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

Are you seeking Him today?

He promises that if we seek Him with our whole hearts we WILL find Him.  (Jeremiah 29:13-14)

He is waiting to meet with us!

Have you ever been so excited to see someone that you met them at the door?  You couldn’t wait for them to reach your embrace?  That is how it is with the Lord!  I feel so excited about spending time with Him!

When my husband and I were dating, I would RUN to the door when I saw him pull into my parent’s drive.  I could hardly wait to hug him and smell his cologne!  My face lit up when he was near!  Well, it is a similar excitement for the Lord, but pure and childlike!  I can’t wait to see His expression when He sees me seeking for Him.  Yes, I am seeking Him out and He will be there to find.

I want to smell the sweetness of heaven and I want to have that aroma on my life!

Don’t you?

Hallelujah!  God is good!

Let Your love overwhelm and take us Lord!  We give you our hearts and our lives!
