This morning I watched Joni Lamb’s Table Talk on Daystar.  Her guest, John Paul Jackson, talked about angels and demons.   Angels carry out the orders from heaven and demons fight for footholds.   Most of the program discussed the purpose of holy angels, but I wanted to share something he said near the end.   John Paul said there are true haunted houses where demonic forces go because they were given legal right by the previous owners of the home.   He said when we go to those houses (out of curiosity) or even if we go to  pretend haunted houses we are EMULATING darkness.   When you emulate it, it gets you one step closer to darkness.

John Paul encouraged people to NEVER give the enemy a foothold.  Never have ANYTHING in common with darkness.   Never do anything by which you can say, “Hey, I’ve dabbled in darkness but I got away with it” because you really didn’t get away with it.  When you dabble in darkness it gives you something IN common with it.

2 Corinthians 6:14
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

What fellowship can light have with darkness?

John Paul said there are enough battles in the world without you putting yourself in a place where the enemy has access to you.

He said something this morning that I haven’t heard before.  It grabbed my attention because there is a young woman in my life who was once a cutter.  I don’t know if she still cuts, but she did.  His comment was this, “There is a growing problem with cutters here in the United States, especially with high school kids.  What we are finding out is that there is a DIRECT correlation between the amount of vampire movies they have watched and the amount of cutting that goes on.”   He said there is a fascination with blood that comes and it is directly attributed to the issue of vampire movies and programs.   Hmmmm.  That is the first time I have heard this, though it wouldn’t surprise me.

I am amazed and frankly disgusted by the amount of Christians that dabble in that stuff.   Of course, they can probably look at me and feel disgusted by something I do as well.   I realize that, but this fascination with vampires is just another way the enemy has cleverly desensitized people to evil.

Funny that this was the subject today since I had something strange happen last week.  On our daughter’s last day of school, I took a picture of her cheesing it for the camera.   When I posted this picture on Facebook a friend of mine noticed a face behind my daughter on the couch.    I hadn’t even noticed it!   I just noticed the orb around her and I figured it was a smudge on my iPhone and wiped off the lens.

Oh, the comments I received on this picture.  I deleted it from my FB page because I didn’t want to attract every “ghoul” seeker.   Several even thought the face was my daddy.   Thankfully, my daddy is in heaven.  I do not believe that souls linger.  There are demons and there are angels — nothing in between.

2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

It was interesting to hear everyone’s opinion, but the Bible should always be our compass.

Some wanted to believe it was an angel.  Some saw several faces.  Some thought the nap in the couch.  Who knows.  Whatever it was, I anointed our house and commanded everything unholy to leave in Jesus’ Name.

I don’t want ANYTHING to do with darkness and it is NOT welcomed here.

What do darkness and light have in common?
