Today is my birthday!

I awakened to find a sweet card from my hubby.

My daughter awakened and came into the den with a card in hand saying, “Happy Birthday Mommy.” Such a sweet sight — made me cry.

I worked out and did my Week 4, Day 1 of the Couch-to-5K running plan. Woo hoo! I can’t believe I did it!

I dug through a pile of bills and transferred money.

Went to the bank to deposit some checks.

Went to parent’s house and paid bills.

Attempted to get my vehicle inspected, but the “guy” said it wasn’t due until October and wouldn’t inspect it. Sigh.

Had my oil changed and THEN IT HAPPENED. My perfectly normal day had a little bump that will truly make this day memorable.

My daughter and I had sat in the waiting room at the local “Jiffy Lube” for about 20 minutes. Several other people had joined us in this little room — so we chatted. Two ladies left and three men came into the room. There was one other lady with us who had a little Jack Russell Terrier in her arms. My daughter was petting the dog and this lady was gracious enough to help entertain my very “chatty” child.

I was at the counter paying (WAY TOO MUCH) for my oil change when I heard my talkative little Princess saying something like this: ” … where the doctor put her finger when we took our dog to the vet …” SCREAM! I immediately left the counter in one swoop and grabbed my daughter! “Uh honey, these people don’t want to know about that” I said. Everyone in the room began to laugh. As I was walking out, the men were losing it. I said, “You really don’t want to know about our dog’s prostate exam.” The guy working there said to my daughter by her name, ” ______, that was a little too much information honey.” I can still see the faces of those people. They were all on their phones, playing on the Internet. I said, “Well, now you have something for your status on Facebook.” LOL I laughed most of the way home and it made my daughter so mad. “Stop laughing at me Mommy” … “I’m not laughing AT you honey …” Hmmm.

Headed to the grocery store.

Fixed the supper I was craving: Chicken, potato salad, green beans, and ICE CREAM CAKE! (Yes, my husband would have taken me out, but I didn’t want to get dressed nice … just wanted to stay home.)

Cut grass.

Hot tub.

Shower.

And here I am.

Oh, and sometime in the middle I responded to a BUNCH of Happy Birthday wishes on Facebook. :o)

It has been a sweet day.

I’ll be by to visit you soon! And just so you know, I’m not counting anymore!
