Fifty-six years ago today my parents were married.

They had 3 children. My brother Doug was the first. Two years later my sister was born. They went on with life with what they thought was their complete family until 9 years later when I came on the scene.

Here is a picture of my Mom, Mary. I love looking at the items in the background in my grandmother’s house. The picture over the mantle now hangs in my foyer. The clock on the mantle sits in my parent’s hallway. I would LOVE to have the room divider (I guess you call it that) in the dining room!

After I married and didn’t want to wear my Mom’s gown, she was going to throw it away. I couldn’t think of it! It sits in my house as well as quite a few hat boxes full of hats that she wore back in the 50’s. Hmmm. I should share those hats in a post sometime!

I think the picture of my parents looking at one another is very sweet.

Now comes 1983! Ha. Let me tell ya — that was NOT my Mom’s natural hair color. LOL

Happy 56th wedding anniversary to my parents. I pray I can wish my husband a happy 56th anniversary someday! What a blessing!
