I have had a super blessed weekend!

Friday night, I went to an awesome conference to see Todd White!  If you ever get a chance to hear him speak — check him out.  He is nothing but the real deal.  Such a passion for Jesus and God’s people!  That doesn’t mean just Christians, but ALL PEOPLE.  Love our neighbor … right?  He is a power house for the Lord!  He said last night that he almost feels called to lead Christians to CHRIST.  Ha, I know that sounds like an oxymoron, but seriously — find him on YouTube.   He is associated with Neck Ministries.

As if Friday night wasn’t spectacular enough — I finally met some folks face-to-face that I have been communicating with online.  I consider myself a part of their virtual church since I watch their services online.  I told you about The Church @ New Bern before.  Remember, I am taking a Prophetic Training course with their associate pastor, Brent Engelman?   (Find him at ThePropheticTraining.com.)   Oh my!  I love these folks and felt totally at home with them.  It is only through Christ that we can have such a sense of family with people we have never met face to face!  Yes Jesus!  Family through Him!   Divine connections are such a blessing!

I spent Friday night, Saturday, and Saturday evening at this wonderful conference.

woman with an issue of bloodSunday morning came and I was wiped out!  I didn’t get home before midnight Friday or Saturday and then got up early each morning …. yawn!   I had no idea God had an awesome little revelation waiting for me today at church!

One of our campus pastors spoke about the story of the woman with the issue of blood.  Most of you are probably familiar with this, but I will share for those who aren’t.

Mark 5:24b-34
A large crowd followed and pressed around Him. And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind Him in the crowd and touched His cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch His clothes, I will be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.

At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from Him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”

“You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ”

But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at His feet and, trembling with fear, told Him the whole truth. He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

Our pastor also shared about the Levitical law concerning a woman who was considered unclean during/after her menstrual cycle.   Think about this woman who had been unclean for 12 years!  Anyone who touched her would also be considered unclean until evening.  If someone touched something that she had sat on, they must bathe and wash their clothes — and guess what?  They were considered unclean too!   Even after her cycle ended, she had to wait 7 days to be ceremonially clean!   So think about the loneliness this woman experienced for 12 years.     You can find these scriptures in Leviticus 15:19-30.

I have read this story numerous times and have approached it from different angles.  I remember Dr. Sandra Kennedy pointed out that this woman chose the way she would be healed, “If only I could touch the hem of His garment!”   But I have never considered the risk this woman took.

Our pastor pointed out that she had to push through the crowd.  Ok, that doesn’t sound so drastic in itself, but think about this … she was UNCLEAN.  She was secretly making everyone else she touched unclean under the law of God.   And to touch this holy Man?  To make Him unclean under the law?   Of course, Jesus is the Son of God — but in the natural — all they knew was the law.

That was a desperate woman!

Have you ever wondered why she was so fearful?   Well, today — the pieces of the puzzle came together for me.

While our pastor shared the scriptures from Leviticus, it dawned on me …   He didn’t point out the fact that everyone she touched became unclean, but that is exactly what happened!

Perhaps she thought that if she just touched the lowest part of His garment … the part of His clothing that was closest to the dirt … it wouldn’t be as much of a defilement.

What a brave and desperate woman!

Wow, aren’t we blessed that we don’t live under that law?

Oh Jesus, THANK YOU for what You have done for us!

Blood that caused defilement came in contact with the Man whose BLOOD would wash away defilement.   Amazing!

I’m just blown away by this new revelation.

God loves us all so much!

HE LOVES YOU!   Oh how He loves you!

What do you think about this new “ah-ha” moment?
