Have you ever heard of Andrew Wommack?  He teaches from the scriptures each day on television.  He is a no-nonsense, very matter-of-fact type of man.  His delivery isn’t charismatic.  Instead, he sits in a chair with a Bible in his hand and just pours out knowledge.

For the past week or two he has taught about healing.  His series is entitled:

God Wants You Well.

One point he made that most Christians can agree on:  God wants all people saved.  It is His will, though not everyone is saved.  God gives us free will and we can refuse what He has for us.

Andrew also stands on the scriptures concerning healing.  By the stripes of Jesus, we ARE healed.  Jesus has already taken care of it for us.   Yesterday, Andrew shared the testimony of a little boy who had stage 4 cancer.   Satan is the one who comes to steal, kill, and destroy.  NOT GOD.   These parents were part of a Christian ministry, but they were told they had to leave when they began to believe that God wanted their child completely healed.

These parents began to stand on God’s Word – lay hands on that child – used the Word as a sword …

Guess what?  I FOUND THE STORY ON YouTube!  You will want to see this (for those who can’t see the video embedded, here is the link  http://youtu.be/RIeW0pmHllE):

I was thinking this morning about how imperative it is that we truly KNOW that we KNOW that we KNOW God’s Word as our sword.  We need to fill our spirit with God’s truth while things are good.  We need to build our house on the Rock.  Nobody can do this for us.  We can pray for others, but we can’t make someone else have revelation.  Only the Holy Spirit can open our eyes.

This is what happened to me when I was so bound by fear.  No one could do it for me.  I could have listened to the world and settled with the lie that I had anxiety.  No — according to God’s Word, I was supposed to have PEACE.  According to His Word, He has not given me a spirit of fear (or timidity), but of power, love, and a sound mind.   I read the scriptures and the Holy Spirit deposited the Living Word deep into my heart.  I knew that God’s Word was more alive and more real than the torment coming against me.

I believe those parents were at that point with their little son.  They received a fresh deposit concerning those scriptures.  They prayed with authority.

Just pondering all of this, I was reminded of the story of the foolish virgins:

Matthew 25:1-13

At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them.  The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.  The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

At midnight the cry rang out:  “Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!”

Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps.  The foolish ones said to the wise, “Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.”

“No,” they replied, “there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.”

But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.

Later the others also came.  “Lord, Lord,” they said, “open the door for us!”

But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.”

Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

I know this story is about salvation.  Once the Lord comes, it will be too late.  But this story also came to my heart about the richness of oil.  The knowledge we need is oil as well.  We shouldn’t wait until we are desperate in the midnight hour before we fill our lamps.

I don’t have all of the answers, but I want to understand more and more about healing.   I can’t help myself.  This is where my heart resides.  I want to see everyone healed – physically and emotionally.   I don’t understand why everyone isn’t healed, but I am driven to press in this area.

I pray the testimony encouraged you.   If you or your child is under attack, I pray this video has given you a renewed fervor to use the Sword of God’s Word.

Isaiah 53:5
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.

God bless you all today.
