I saw some previews a few weeks ago of a new television show that was going to be aired on the OWN network.   The topic that caught my attention was religion in America.   I knew it would be from a very liberal point of view, but I was curious.

Thanks to my DVR, I was able to schedule the series to be recorded.   One of the episodes was about the life of swingers.   Yeah, not the kind of swings kids like to enjoy — but married couples having parties where everyone swaps their spouses.

Filth.

There was the spirit attached to the show.   Perversion.   Seriously … I could feel it in the room.  I couldn’t even watch the mess.    I quickly turned off the TV and prayed — commanding it to leave my house.

This was such a reminder that we can’t allow certain things to enter through our “eye-gates” into our minds.

James 1:13-15
When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

These people are definitely playing with evil desires that are giving birth to death.

It made me think of an interview I watched of a man who had seen a glimpse of hell.   The demons tormented the individuals with the sinful practices that the person engaged in on earth.   The things he witnessed were so perverse and detestable that he has yet to verbalize was he saw.

I thought of these people and what type of horror was going to face them if they didn’t find Jesus.  What if He returned while they were in the middle of one of their huge parties?  Can you imagine what they would feel once they saw the King of Kings and Lord of Lords?  The shame and regret would be unbearable.   I prayed for them.

This main couple being interviewed were very wealthy.   They lived in a huge home and drove nice cars.  It definitely looked like they had everything the world could offer, but their souls were deprived and starving.

Interesting that the scripture mentioned above states that people are DRAGGED away by their own desire and enticed.    What a visual of a demon dragging someone and enticing them.  Blech!

James 1:21
Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
