consequencesI debated whether or not I would share what I read on Monday, but since I am transparent on this blog, I figured I would put it out there.

It is up to each of you to pray about this for yourselves.

Monday was a beautiful day.  It was actually warm enough for me to sit on my porch and enjoy the lovely fall leaves.   I took my Bible with me and asked the Lord what He would want me to read.

I will admit that I normally venture towards the New Testament or some of the warm and fuzzy scriptures in the Old Testament such as praises in the Psalms or wisdom from the book of  Proverbs.  But Monday I immediately turned to Ezekiel 15.   Needless to say, it wasn’t warm or fuzzy.  It was a story of God’s anger and wrath towards a stubborn, proud Israel.   As I read along, I kept writing, “America?” in the margins.

I kept this to myself (other than sharing with my friend Angie), but then yesterday I received an email from someone else who had been told to read Ezekiel chapter 14!  It was the same message I received.

It comes as no surprise to any of you that I am seriously concerned and grieved over the condition of this country.    I didn’t want to share this because I really do like to encourage people and not have such a heavy tone.   I would love to be able to just believe that all is well and the choices of the people won’t make a difference in this land, but I know better.

If you haven’t read the book The Harbinger by Jonathan Cahn, I highly recommend it.  Jonathan Cahn shows the similarity between Israel and America.    It shows how we are following in Israel’s footprints.  It is amazing that Americans have even used the SAME WORDS as the Israelites in the Old Testament.  It is true — even the secular media.

Here is the scripture God told someone I know to read from Ezekiel 14:

Ezekiel 14:13
The word of the Lord came to me:  “Son of man, if a country sins against me by being unfaithful and I stretch out my hand against it to cut off its food supply and send famine upon it and kill its people and their animals …”

I am praying for God’s mercy, for sure.

Monday I was led to read Ezekiel 15 and 16.

Ezekiel 15:7-8
I will set my face against them. Although they have come out of the fire, the fire will yet consume them. And when I set my face against them, you will know that I am the Lord. I will make the land desolate because they have been unfaithful, declares the Sovereign Lord.”

Ezekiel 16:10-14
I clothed you with an embroidered dress and put sandals of fine leather on you. I dressed you in fine linen and covered you with costly garments. I adorned you with jewelry: I put bracelets on your arms and a necklace around your neck, and I put a ring on your nose, earrings on your ears and a beautiful crown on your head. So you were adorned with gold and silver; your clothes were of fine linen and costly fabric and embroidered cloth. Your food was honey, olive oil and the finest flour. You became very beautiful and rose to be a queen. And your fame spread among the nations on account of your beauty, because the splendor I had given you made your beauty perfect, declares the Sovereign Lord.

Ezekiel 16:15-20
“‘But you trusted in your beauty and used your fame to become a prostitute. You lavished your favors on anyone who passed by and your beauty became his. You took some of your garments to make gaudy high places, where you carried on your prostitution. You went to him, and he possessed your beauty. You also took the fine jewelry I gave you, the jewelry made of my gold and silver, and you made for yourself male idols and engaged in prostitution with them. And you took your embroidered clothes to put on them, and you offered my oil and incense before them. Also the food I provided for you—the flour, olive oil and honey I gave you to eat—you offered as fragrant incense before them. That is what happened, declares the Sovereign Lord. “‘And you took your sons and daughters whom you bore to me and sacrificed them as food to the idols. Was your prostitution not enough? You slaughtered my children and sacrificed them to the idols. In all your detestable practices and your prostitution you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, kicking about in your blood.

Does slaughtering children sound familiar?  ABORTION

Ezekiel. 16:35-37
“‘Therefore, you prostitute, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because you poured out your lust and exposed your naked body in your promiscuity with your lovers, and because of all your detestable idols, and because you gave them your children’s blood, therefore I am going to gather all your lovers, with whom you found pleasure, those you loved as well as those you hated. I will gather them against you from all around and will strip you in front of them, and they will see you stark naked.
Ezekiel 16:39-42
Then I will deliver you into the hands of your lovers, and they will tear down your mounds and destroy your lofty shrines. They will strip you of your clothes and take your fine jewelry and leave you stark naked. They will bring a mob against you, who will stone you and hack you to pieces with their swords. They will burn down your houses and inflict punishment on you in the sight of many women. I will put a stop to your prostitution, and you will no longer pay your lovers. Then my wrath against you will subside and my jealous anger will turn away from you; I will be calm and no longer angry.

We have taken God’s Hand of protection over America for granted.  The people have believed in their own abilities versus God’s blessing.

The choices made always have consequences.  Each of us individually reap from the decisions we have made.  Is there forgiveness?  Yes – when we repent.

We as a nation will need to repent … especially the Christians.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

God bless you, please pray that God will open the eyes of the people — especially the Christians.  We need to be ready for the harvest.
