Has anyone felt fear lingering in the air this past week?   It started before the verdict was given concerning the death of the young man in Ferguson, however after the verdict I felt it amp up a bit.

The media doesn’t help the situation and as a matter of fact, there are key players who have tried to make this a race war.   It has nothing to do with race, though it gives racist people a reason to spew demonic hatred out into the world.  It isn’t about race, but it is what God’s Word said would happen:

2 Timothy 3:1-4
But understand this, that in the last days will come (set in) perilous times of great stress and trouble [hard to deal with and hard to bear].

For people will be lovers of self and [utterly] self-centered, lovers of money and aroused by an inordinate [greedy] desire for wealth, proud and arrogant and contemptuous boasters. They will be abusive (blasphemous, scoffing), disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane.

[They will be] without natural [human] affection (callous and inhuman), relentless (admitting of no truce or appeasement); [they will be] slanderers (false accusers, troublemakers), intemperate and loose in morals and conduct, uncontrolled and fierce, haters of good.

[They will be] treacherous [betrayers], rash, [and] inflated with self-conceit. [They will be] lovers of sensual pleasures and vain amusements more than and rather than lovers of God.

There are many sad factors concerning the death of this young man.  Of course, the fact that this man acted like he did in the convenient store — bullying the owner and stealing what he wanted only showed the way he lived his life.   Then the young man refused to obey a police officer and tried to take his gun.  He had no respectful boundaries or respect for authority.   I can only guess that he didn’t have Jesus in his heart which means another soul lost for eternity.   Perhaps as a child someone told him about Jesus and he asked Him to have his life, but turned away?  Only God knows … but nonetheless … a life was lost.   I can’t imagine the sorrow of the mother.  I pray that she will run into the arms of Jesus to carry her through this dark time.

Aside from the loss of a life, what about all of the innocent store owners who worked hard just to have their property destroyed?   What about all of the vehicles burned and destroyed?  And for what?  So the lawless can have their way and not be held accountable?   I question if the people destroying that city even cared about the young man.

Romans 13:1-6
Let every person be loyally subject to the governing (civil) authorities. For there is no authority except from God [by His permission, His sanction], and those that exist do so by God’s appointment.

Therefore he who resists and sets himself up against the authorities resists what God has appointed and arranged [in divine order]. And those who resist will bring down judgment upon themselves [receiving the penalty due them].

For civil authorities are not a terror to [people of] good conduct, but to [those of] bad behavior. Would you have no dread of him who is in authority? Then do what is right and you will receive his approval and commendation.

For he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, [you should dread him and] be afraid, for he does not bear and wear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant to execute His wrath (punishment, vengeance) on the wrongdoer.

Therefore one must be subject, not only to avoid God’s wrath and escape punishment, but also as a matter of principle and for the sake of conscience.

For this same reason you pay taxes, for [the civil authorities] are official servants under God, devoting themselves to attending to this very service.

The lack of respect for authority made we want to make sure I was armed at all times to protect my own child.   As I saw some of the “peaceful” protesters walking by cars stopped in traffic, my mind began to race and wonder how I would feel if I was alone in the car with my daughter while surrounded by angry people.   I immediately started researching how to get a concealed carry handgun (CCH) permit.  I have the guns, just not a permit to carry.

Do I REALLY want to have a gun around me or my child all of the time?  NO.

Who protects me better than a gun ever could?  GOD.

Besides, I can’t imagine hurting another person.  I would be concerned about their eternal destiny.   If I am killed, I am going home … but someone who would attack me?  Where is their eternal home?

Isaiah 54:17
But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong. This [peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord [those in whom the ideal Servant of the Lord is reproduced]; this is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from Me [this is that which I impart to them as their justification], says the Lord.

There are so many people deceived.   That is all I can say about that.  Deceived, full of venom, full of hatred, full of anger …  If people can’t hear or see the truth after all of the evidence freely presented — their eyes are blind and their ears are clogged.  The prince of this world has an open door through old wounds/ generational wounds.   Lies were spread which created a frenzy about the way things took place, but the lies were proven to be lies.  Experts and Ferguson witnesses backed the story of the officer which was the truth.    People still don’t want to hear though …  They would rather use this as a reason to bring destruction.

I posted on a social media site:  It is no mistake that this craziness, division, and lawlessness is taking place now when our focus should be on celebrating the birth of our Lord. Who is behind this? Our battle is NOT against flesh and blood. Christians — pray.

It is time for those who confess Christ to pray.   This has nothing to do with the color God chose to place on our skin, but has everything to do with lawlessness, rebellion, wickedness, division, and demonic activity.    I don’t care what color this young man was — purple, green, yellow — makes no difference.   Lawlessness is lawlessness.   He made horrible choices which unfortunately led to his life ending.   A life that God had given a purpose.  God had a plan for this young man.   Satan stole this life because he is the one who steals, kills, and destroys.

I’m sure this post will offend someone, though I’m not sure how.   Our battle is against the prince of the air and his demons.  It isn’t against flesh and blood.   We need to be on our faces in prayer for the people of this nation.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
