Today I link with Laurie at Women Taking a Stand to share thanksgiving for our blessings! Today’s theme is courage. (Laurie, thank you so much for hosting us this month. You have done a great job!)

Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you He will not fail you or forsake you.
What is the definition of courage?

Courage: Mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty.

Psalm 27:14
Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage;Yes, wait for the LORD.

Isn’t it interesting that the verse above states to “LET” our hearts take courage? So does that mean it is a choice? Yes, I believe it is.

Isaiah 35:4
Say to those with anxious heart,”Take courage, fear not, behold, your God will come with vengeance; The recompense of God will come, but He will save you.”
Anytime I think of courage in the bible I think of the armor God has given us. If you read Ephesians 6, you’ll see all of the pieces of the armor: Helmet of salvation, breastplate of righteousness, sword of the Spirit, shield of faith, belt of truth, and shoes of peace. These instruments are OFFENSIVE weapons — not DEFENSIVE. They don’t cover the back, but the front. It takes courage to STAND. You stand and face the opponent! Take courage my friends!

I am thankful for God’s Word!

I am thankful that we can allow courage to rise up in our hearts.

I am thankful in times when I want to run away, I know to STAND.

I am thankful for my family, friends, church, and all of my many blessings!
