My friend Tammy recently had a vision of Jesus on the cross.   She looked up at Him and said, “Lord, what held You on the cross?” We all know He could have called angels to rescue Him.   He looked down at her and said, “I LOVE YOU.”

I LOVE YOU!

He had her tell me the same thing when she visited me.

HE LOVES ME!

He loves you too!

The love that God has for mankind is too big for us to wrap our finite minds around.  Some have a greater revelation of His love than others, but even still … no way to fully grasp His love.

On Valentine’s Day people celebrate the loves in their lives.  We give cards, flowers, candy, and gifts to our loved ones — but how often have you thought about the Lord on Valentine’s Day?

Instead of some chubby little cupid flying around with an arrow, I want to focus on the One who took the spear in His side for me.

Where would I be without Jesus?  Other than destined for a life in hell after death, I would have lost my sanity.  The enemy tried to steal a peaceful mind away from me.   From the seeds that were planted as a young child, he wanted me to lose my grasp on right thinking — but JESUS stepped in and set me free (and continues to set me free — layer by layer).

1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Since fear was my nemesis this scripture really bothered me.  I knew I was somehow missing a key because I still feared.  I was not made perfect in love.  Hmmmm.  If I had perfect love, the fear would have been driven out.

There is a big key that unlocks the chains:  GOD’S LOVE

It can be difficult for those who were raised by a controlling or critical parent.  Perhaps you suffered abuse as a child.  Different scenarios may make it a little more difficult to truly grasp how much He loves you.   But I am convinced, once the head-knowledge seeps down into heart-knowledge — freedom comes.

1 John 4:9-10
This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Father, if there is anyone reading this post today that needs a fresh revelation of Your love for them — I ask that their eyes be opened right now in the Name of Jesus.  I pray each of us would have understanding to know how wide, how high, and how deep Your love is for us.   And Lord, show us how to be a blessing and sweet aroma to YOU today.   I love You!  In Jesus’ Name.  Amen.

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
