For the party hoppers, let me introduce myself.   My name is Beth.   I live in the southern part of the USA, so let me pour you a glass of sweet tea and serve you a piece of gooey butter cake.  I just made a fresh batch for you!

We will sit out here on the porch, kick our feet up, and enjoy the sunlight while we chat!

My husband, daughter, and I live on a farm that has been in my husband’s family since the 1800’s.   Our little farm house was actually built in 1900 by his great-grandfather.   Yes, we live on a farm — but don’t imagine some ranch out in the middle of open fields.  We are located smack dab in the center of suburbia — even in the CITY LIMITS.

Yes, you read that right!

People enjoy seeing our cows during their commutes.   They also might catch the occasional glimpse of my chickens running through our yard.  (Hmmmm.  It just occurred to me that I’m probably supposed to have them caged at all times … shhhhh.)   We even open our farm each year for the public to enjoy.   During the fall season, we plant a 10-acre corn maze and practically provide our own little country fair.    After Thanksgiving, we open for the Christmas season and sell trees.    There is never a dull moment around here!

This is me~  Yes, a self-shot I took yesterday.

I’m a wife (of almost 24 years) and a Mommy to a beautiful little 7-year-old.

I can tell you about marriage, adoption, chickens, surviving elderly parents, breaking free from mental torment, spiritual warfare, etc …

You just never know what you will find here at my place, but I mostly write about my love for Jesus.   I just can’t be quiet about Him and all that He has done for me!   Most of the time, you can find HOPE here, but warning — I am transparent.

Every couple of months you might find a post about my chickens.  All of my chicken ramblings are compiled together up top in the menu bar (or you can just click HERE).  Believe it or not, there are a lot of chicken lovin’ folks out in the blogosphere!

This is my husband.  I refer to him as Boaz on my blog.   He is a character and usually tells some type of wild tale that has people laughing.   His story-telling reminds me of the same gift my daddy had.   He and I dated when I was 17 and got back together when I was 20.  We have been together ever since.

We have been through a LOT together and I am extremely grateful for him!

Last, but certainly not least is our precious little girl — known as Princess in these parts.

This precious child is so talented and smart.  If God had not already given us a name for her, we would have named her JOY.  She brings joy to everyone she meets!

She loves sports and wins at just about every game she plays.  She starts on her first swim team this summer!  She is very excited!
