A friend loves at all times,
And a brother is born for adversity.
This photo was taken yesterday of my daughter and her friend. These two girls met in preschool. They were in the same Kindergarten class and now still remain good friends in 1st grade. My daughter has several good friends and I pray these friendships will last a lifetime.
The above scripture makes me giggle a little because the girl holding my daughter’s hand has an older brother who is RELENTLESS when it comes to pushing, pulling, and harassing her.
My older brother was mean to my sister because they were two years apart. I was too young and basically out of the fray thanks to my age. But my sister surely caught it.
But friends …
Friends are chosen. We are born with our family members, but we choose our friends. I have some of the best friends in the world and I am grateful!
There is another friend we can choose. He is the best Friend we could ever want: JESUS.
A man who has friends must himself be friendly,
But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
His name is JESUS! He loves us no matter what we do. He never leaves us or forsakes us. He keeps our secrets and mends our broken hearts. What a friend we have in Jesus!
