Merry Christmas!

Since last year was the first Christmas without my parents, my family didn’t gather together.   You see, we normally met at my parent’s house the night of Christmas.   I had all hopes to bring us together last year, but it just didn’t work out.

This year, one of my nieces made the comment that she was really sad that we wouldn’t be getting together, so I decided to invite everyone to our home.

The family time was yesterday at noon.

I was so excited to open our home and draw those in who could come.   It was nothing fancy — just food and fellowship.

My sweet niece “S” introduced us to the newest member of our family pictured here.  I didn’t give you too close of a view since I didn’t ask permission to place her on my blog.  But take my word for it … she is a cutie!

I was just grateful to have my family with me!

I couldn’t help but think of my parents as I opened my home.   Several of their Christmas decorations “saw” this family yet another year.

All I wanted was for everyone to feel joy, peace, and love.

My niece S and her family stayed much later than everyone else and it was wonderful having them here.

I love everything about Christmas!

I am so grateful for Jesus!  I cannot imagine what Mary must have gone through!  Everything about the birth of my Lord seemed messy and difficult.   But even with the plans of man that failed – the Christ Child was born!

It is because of His birth that we celebrate!

Isaiah 9:6-7
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
    there will be no end.

I am grateful for Jesus!

I am grateful for family!

I am thankful for Christmas!

Have a Blessed and Merry Christmas Everyone!

  1. Have a Merry Christmas Beth. Wonderful that your family was able to get together this year.

  2. Thankful you got to spend time with extended family. Praying God’s richest blessings over you and yours in the coming year!

  3. Merry Christmas, Beth. So wonderful that your family was able to be together. Much love to you.
Btw…I’m the Beth that just sent you a friend request on Facebook. :)

  4. Oh Beth, I do understand! Although my dad is still alive and well he lives in Florida and I’m out west in AZ. My mom died in 2005 and she was the one who was the best hostess, especially during the holidays. Greg and I had a quiet Christmas together though.

From what I can see, she is a cutie!

    Merry Christmas!

    Blessings and love,

  5. I’m glad you were able to spend Christmas with family. My grandmother was the one who always had everyone together for Christmas in our family. Now that she’s gone we don’t see extended family very often. I miss it. Maybe next year will be the year to change it.

    Sweet baby!
