I had the honor of attending the NC Central Women’s Aglow Retreat this year in Sophia, NC.  The weather was lovely, the time with my friends was just what I needed, and the MEAT of the Word literally filled me.

I have struggled with what I should share because there was so much wisdom that it is hard to put into words in a short post!

Our speaker was Dr. Sandra Kennedy.  Folks, if you ever get a chance to see this woman in person – PLEASE go.  She was one of the first women ORDAINED by a Baptist seminary.  I don’t know how that happened since a lot of Baptists don’t believe women can be in ministry, but she is a pastor of a church in Augusta, Georgia and her services are on TV.  Find her church (Whole Life Ministries) HERE.  If you have satellite, you can watch her during the week.

When God first called her, she really struggled (being taught that women couldn’t pastor).  God continued to press the issue and she said, “Ok Father.  IF women can be in this role, You must prove it to me in Your Word.”  She fasted and God led her from Genesis to Revelation.  God told her to never defend herself in this role and He has blessed her beyond measure.  The anointing on her life is proof enough for me.  She knows the Word of God in such a way that it makes me jealous for that type of revelation and understanding (in a good way).  We all left with a new, deeper hunger for the Word of God!

Before she even understood “Charismatic” things, she was driving down the road and was suddenly taken up in a vision with Jesus.  She was standing next to Jesus and He showed her what her church would look like — what it should be called, etc …  She wasn’t baptized in the Spirit at the time.  The Lord did this 3 different times in several years.  He showed her the name of her church, the location, etc … Confirming yet again that HE called her into ministry.

Like I said, there is so much to share!  I’ll just break it into several posts.  Today I will show you what the Word says will happen if you are a DOER of the Word.

Matthew 7:24
Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock.

1.  If you are a doer of the Word, you will WITHSTAND the storms of life.

James 1:25
But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

2. If you are a doer of the Word, you will be BLESSED in all you do.

Joshua 1:8

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

3.  If you are a doer of the Word, you will be PROSPEROUS.  This word “prosperous” in Hebrew meant PUSH FORWARD AND BREAKOUT!  Hallelujah!  Chew on that for a moment!

Proverbs 4:20-22
My son, give attention to my words;
      Incline your ear to my sayings.
      Do not let them depart from your eyes;
      Keep them in the midst of your heart;
      For they are life to those who find them,
      And health to all their flesh.

4.  If you are a doer of the Word, you will have abundant LIFE and HEALTH.  The Word is like a medicine.

Psalm 1:1-3
Blessed is the man
         Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
         Nor stands in the path of sinners,
         Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
         And in His law he meditates day and night.
 He shall be like a tree
         Planted by the rivers of water,
         That brings forth its fruit in its season,
         Whose leaf also shall not wither;
         And whatever he does shall prosper.

5.  If you are a doer of the Word, you will PROSPER in all that you do!

It was such a wonderful meeting!  Saturday night we were truly filled with New Wine.  MANY people in the meeting were healed!  It wasn’t because she placed her hands on people and prayed over them, but it was due to people UNDERSTANDING what God’s Word says about healing.  I’ll share that in my next post.

Sunday morning when the offering was being taken up, there was a quiet hush.  I began to fill God’s presence in a way I don’t think I have felt Him before.  I looked over at my friend Angie (Laughter Does the Heart Good) and said, “Wow, do you feel that?”  She was already wiping the tears from her eyes.  The only way I can describe it was seeing a mist or cloud come down from the ceiling.  What a HOLY moment!  I wish we could have lingered there.

I have many stories to share, but I’ll leave you with a couple of pictures and draw this to a close.

This is what Angie and I did the entire time!  LAUGH!

Michele laughed some too!

  And we acted silly.

Connie laughed too!

Great time with sweet friends!

I love my friends!

I will try to share what Dr. Kennedy taught us about healing in my next post.  Stay tuned …  :o)

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
