Psalm 127:3
Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him.

For many years this scripture caused me pain.  My husband and I longed for a child and the years just seemed to melt away like wax.  Before we knew it, 15 years of marriage had passed and it was still just the two of us.

Why didn’t God trust us with a child?

Of course, satan planted that lie in my heart.   Our Father God loved us!  He wasn’t punishing us or withholding a reward from us.  Who can began to know what God has planned?

1 Corinthians 2:9
However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love Him—

Eight years ago today our beautiful daughter was born.  This was taken the first time we saw her.  I had my hand on her and was about to BURST wide open!

She and I have been close ever since!   I love my baby girl — who turns EIGHT YEARS OLD TODAY!

Where have the years gone?

I laugh because she LOVES telling everyone that she lives on a farm.  She is always proud to call this place home, but she has never volunteered to do any of the farm “work” that is involved.  (Below is a photo of my mother-in-law and our daughter shucking corn.)

We are so blessed to have such a wonderful daughter.   She is loved by everyone who meets her and brings joy to so many.

Isaiah 54:13
All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace.

She hasn’t awakened yet, but when she does — she will find out that her big present from us this year is a shiny red guitar!  She has wanted one for a couple of years now.  She has gone through a couple of toys guitars and when we had our parent’s estate auction, she came home with an old one that had practically dry rotted from the heat in my parent’s attic.

SHE WILL SCREAM when she sees it!  And to top it off, she will begin lessons next week!

Yes, the American Girl Doll will have to wait for Christmas.   I think she will be content and pleasantly surprised!

I love to bless her because she is such a blessing!

I thank God almost daily for allowing me to be a Mom.

Happy Birthday dear little one!  We are SO PROUD of you and know that you will do great things for the Lord!   You are such a LIGHT and a JOY in our world.

Have a sweet Saturday everyone!
