John 10:27
My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.

Wow, I had two tests this morning — or should I say two chances to hear God’s direction.

For some reason my daughter and I were running late for school.  I don’t understand how it happened, but for some reason things didn’t come together.

I noticed my cell phone was still plugged in, whereas I would normally stop and put it in my purse first thing in the morning.  I believe the Holy Spirit was prompting me because He knew I was going to run late.   He is still teaching me that when time seems to stop for a second and I REALLY notice something, He is usually behind it.

As we were ZOOMING to school, my daughter asked for my phone so she could look at the pictures and I realized it was still sitting on my counter.  I ignored the gentle prompting to put it in my purse.  What if my parents had needed me?  They couldn’t have reached me for at least 30 minutes.

Second chance:  We pulled into her school behind a line of other parents.  I heard in my spirit, “Be cautious.  Be alert.”  I slowed down and started to look around me.  The car in lane one to my left suddenly pulled across my lane (#2) into a parking spot.  It wasn’t a parent but a high school kid.   I had to slam on brakes to keep from hitting him.   I immediately thanked God for warning me!

I’m sure you have heard people say that it is during the GOOD times  that you should fill yourself with God’s Word.  It is during the good times that you should fill up your “spiritual tank.”    Don’t wait until you NEED to hear from God to begin to walk with Him.

Commune with Him and be prepared.  He cares about your every concern, no matter how small.  Even something as small and insignificant as a cell phone being left behind.

Psalm 53:2
God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.

Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

Seek Him now while He may be found.   I love this promise in Matthew.  I have stood on this scripture many times:

Matthew 7:7-8
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
