Bonnie Gray, The Faith Barista, asked us answer this question:  What is one thing that attracts you to Jesus?

When I think of my wonderful Savior, Deliverer, and Friend —  I think of a safe place.

He is my safe place.

When I was at a Gary Oates conference a year ago, he had us do an exercise where we envisioned ourselves with the Lord.  I immediately saw myself (near my daughters age) with Jesus.  We were heading down a dirt path.  I could only see from His waste down and I noticed my bare feet and white dress.  I was skipping along, holding His Hand.  Off to the right I saw lush grass, big trees with low limbs and a stream even further off in the distance.  There was a picnic blanket spread near the water with china.   I began to ask the Lord about this vision and He said it was a place I used to visit with Him as a child.  A safe place.   (I love this drawing to the left.  It is very close to the place I was with Jesus.  He had on a brown sash around His waste though.  What a beautiful little girl in this picture.)

Even in my childhood I ran to Him.  I wasn’t raised in church, but my young spirit knew Him.

Jesus is SAFE.

He will never condemn me.

Romans 8:1-2
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

Even when I’m hard on myself, He isn’t.  He doesn’t weigh me down, but lifts me up.

Matthew 11:30
For My yoke is easy and my burden is light.

He will never leave me.

Deuteronomy 31:8
The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

He is my Friend yet He is my Lord.  I also have a healthy fear of Him being the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords!

I think I shared this when it happened, but the other night I was at a place of worship and suddenly Jesus appeared in front of me.  He was smiling from ear to ear.  He spoke to me though He didn’t open His mouth, nor did I.

I love Him and I can’t imagine life without Him!

WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS!
