Gardeniafresh

Yesterday the enemy tried to set me up and make me fall.

A couple of hours before I was to join a meeting where I would pray for others, I found out that someone I love had been holding a secret.  It was nothing life-shattering by any means, but it was enough to try to bring up an old wound.

How could I continue to trust this person?

Though I was hurt, I knew I could not allow that hurt to dig into my heart and create a wound.    I confessed how it made me feel and I forgave.

Why forgive?  Because I have been forgiven MUCH!   I have done much worse in my life and God has forgiven me.

There was no other choice in my opinion.

We can stop so much offense if we don’t allow it to take root in our hearts!  We have no right to be offended after everything Jesus endured.  He forgave and we must too.

This would have surely put me in a tale-spin if I had not gone through the recent healing where I asked the Lord to remove all pain from my heart.

Isn’t it just like the enemy to pull a stunt like this right before I would be listening to the Lord’s voice for others?

Ezekiel 20:41
I will accept you as a sweet aroma when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you have been scattered; and I will be hallowed in you before the Gentiles.

Just as those sweet-smelling gardenias pictured above, I want my life to be a sweet aroma.  I want to bring a smile to Daddy God’s face.

In the verse I shared, the Lord was going to receive glory when the nations saw how He blessed His people.   In turn, I want my life to bring glory and honor to Him.

My new friend said the other day, “I smell flesh stretching.  God loves that smell.”   Ah, yes — the scent of someone stepping out and doing the Father’s business.  It isn’t what is necessarily comfortable or easy — but what is right.

Father God, it is my heart’s desire to be a blessing to You!  I want to love what You love and I want to hear Your heart.   I want my life to be a sweet-smelling aroma to You!   Mold me into the woman who reflects Your Son and point others to You.   I want more of You in my heart and in my life.   I love You and need You!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
