hope

I don’t make resolutions or choose a word or scripture that follows me throughout the year.  I have many friends who do and I think it is so neat, but God has never placed it on my heart.  However, Bonnie — The Faith Barista — asked us to write about our “one word” for this new year so I had to think about it for a second.   The first word that came to me was HOPE.

The prophetic voices are calling for difficult (or should I say dark) days ahead.   I’m not sure what they are seeing, but I know we have been warned for the past few years to squirrel away extra and make provision for our families.   I also feel that the Church will appear to be somewhat asleep until the days are dark enough for people to really SEE the Light of Christ.

I feel in my spirit that those who are prepared will have what is needed for those who are afraid and hurting.   I mean spiritually prepared.

I have been waiting for years to see the gift of healing truly manifest in my life.   Not for me to receive ANY glory!  I am only human, but it is all about people knowing how real God is and that He still performs miracles.  He hasn’t changed.  Even writing that statement makes me want to clarify … we don’t need signs and wonders to believe, but I can’t shake this deep yearning in my heart to see the sick healed.  It has burned within me since the early 90’s.

I sat and watched both of my parents die  — shrivel up within their earthly vessels, yet I can lay hands on people and see limbs grow longer, pain lift, etc …   I want to see cancer flee and all other sicknesses healed by the power of the Name of Jesus.  I want to see people set free from demonic strongholds (which is also a form of healing).   It isn’t about me or anyone else who is praying, but it is what JESUS did for us on the cross.  He already did everything He needed to do.

So I have HOPE that this is coming.

I believe that whatever happens this year, we Christians will need to remember to believe what His Word says.    Only God knows what we will see with our eyes, but His Word trumps whatever we see.  His Word is the ultimate Truth that nothing can replace or overcome.

Yes, I have HOPE that we were placed on this earth for such a time as this.  It is by no mistake that we are here during 2013.  God had picked us to be here during this time.

Psalm 31:24
Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.
