Yesterday after breakfast, the young Princess and I began our adventure in the garden — picking corn.

It was a typical NC hot summer day. July flies (well, that is what I call them) were singing and filling the humid air with noise.

I was in the garden picking corn and tossing it on the ground for Princess to gather.

She was working hard!

We picked 10 dozen ears of corn (just a row and a half).

Can you tell our daughter isn’t quite as happy at this point?

Please take the time to watch this youtube of my daughter whining as she was forced (such a mean Mom) to shuck some corn. You can hear the July flies. I love it! This is what a NC summer sounds like. Welcome to my yard.

Shucked, silked, and divided into dozens.

Wish I could share with you. We ate some last night for supper and it was DELICIOUS!
