Exodus 24:15-17
When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord settled on Mount Sinai. For six days the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh day the Lord called to Moses from within the cloud. To the Israelites the glory of the Lord looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain.
I captured this photo yesterday while riding down Hwy 52 in North Carolina. This is Pilot Mountain. We saw the smoke from miles away and the closer we got the more ominous the site became. The NC Forestry service was conducting a controlled burn, but apparently the fire wouldn’t be controlled.
Exodus states that to the Israelites, the glory of the Lord looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain. But what did the glory of the Lord appear like to Moses? I believe He had eyes to see things differently.
Sometimes having eyes to see things is a heavy responsibility. I will continue with that thought in another post.

I agree, Moses was able to see God differently, and God allowed him to. I think God allows us to see more of Him as we spend time with Him, and get to know Him.
