I would have never believed that my daddy would have made it to his 89th birthday, but I’m so thankful he will (God willing)!
Daddy was born May 8, 1922!
Such a handsome young man!

Below is a picture of me with my Dad one Easter before I left for church with my hunky boyfriend (husband now).  :o)  Yep, loved that 80’s hairdo!

I’m so thankful God has given us so many years with him.  He is quite a character — full of stories and smiles.  He rarely complains, yet has had plenty to complain about.
He was diagnosed with prostate cancer around 14 years ago (I think).  By the time it was discovered, it had already metastasized to his spine.  The doctor gave him 3 years to live, but God had a different plan.  Daddy — though weak, is still so determined.  He has real grit.
Here he is with my daughter a couple of years ago.

Stepping back in time a bit: My honey had sent me roses to work — so of course we had to pose in front of them.  Daddy was cooking supper at the time and didn’t bother taking off Mama’s apron.  Ha.

Just before I walked into the church our photographer got this shot of me, my Daddy, and sister (who looks nothing like this now).  Wow, I’m sorry, but I can’t get over that fried hair.  Why didn’t someone help me?  lol
Tomorrow is his big day!
Happy 89th Birthday to my Daddy!
I’m so glad God had a plan for me!  I was not “planned” by them.  My daddy was 45 when I was born.  I was a pleasant surprise.  :o)  My parents thought they were finished when my sister was born (9 years prior to me).
Our days are ordained and numbered by our Lord.
I’m thankful, aren’t you?
