Someone posted the picture on a social media site.   When I saw it I immediately thought, “Wow, that would preach!”   I won’t preach, but I will share what came to my thoughts:

It is what we allow INSIDE of us that makes us sink.

What fills you today?

What are you ingesting?

I love to fill my spirit with things that build up and encourage.   I only watch the news under duress (when my husband refuses to change the channel) because it is so hopeless and negative.    I prefer watching shows like Sid Roth – It’s Supernatural, Joni’s Table Talk, Andrew Wommack, Kenneth & Gloria Copeland … (the list could go on and on).

I also prefer Christian music — not out of some type of religious spirit, but because I only want to focus on the Truth.  Music sticks with me.  I hear the lyrics over and over in my heart and I bet you do too!

What type of songs are floating around in that heart of yours?

I am grateful that more than ever before, we have access through satellite or the Internet to countless ministries!  Years ago, I had to purchase a Strong’s Concordance and use 3 or 4 different Bible translations to study.  Now we have Bible Gateway and other sources of information right at our fingertips.   We are a BLESSED generation for sure!   We have no excuse in America if we aren’t feeding on God’s Word.

Currently, my daughter and I are working through Joyce Meyer‘s book The Mind is the Battlefield.   Even at the young age of 10, she is learning the importance of capturing her thoughts.

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Our thoughts are powerful and they BEAR FRUIT.   Think good thoughts and the fruit in your life will be good.  When you entertain bad thoughts, negative fruit will manifest.

Our eyes and ears are open windows and satellites that catch information — good and bad.   It is up to us to make wise choices.

Are you sinking today?   Even as a Christian — do you feel like you are going under?   If so, ask the Holy Spirit to give you eyes to see what you are watching and to give you ears to hear what you are entertaining.   Are you feeding your spirit with words of negativity, hopelessness, and doubt?

I recently had a friend who was feeling hopeless.   She has Sirius XM Radio, so I suggested she tune into Joel Osteen’s station.   If nothing else, he is full of encouragement and gets people back on track if they are swimming in hopelessness and despair.   Just HEARING the truth began to change her heart.    It happened quickly too!

Someone reading this may have spent her entire life being negative and entertaining thoughts of despair.   Be encouraged!  God can QUICKLY turn things around when you are obedient to His instruction.

2 Corinthians 10:3-6
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.  For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,  casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,  and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

You never asked for the battle, but you are in it nonetheless.   God doesn’t leave us here helpless.  He did everything that needed to be done through Jesus.   We have every weapon we need here on earth.   Pick up your weapons my friends.

Capture your thoughts.   Feed your spirit with God’s Word.   Walk in faith and speak words of faith.   Be careful what you see and hear.

I pray this little post will cause you to ponder all that is entering your life.   Good?  Bad?

Choose wisely~
