JoySalvation

Psalm 51:12
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

This past weekend has been eye-opening for me.

Friday night I watched Marcus and Joni Lamb interview Pat and Shirley Boone on Celebration (on the DayStar television network).  The Boones shared how the Baptism of the Holy Spirit changed their lives and the lives of their family members.

That greater surrender to the Lord changed Shirley’s life so much that by the time a year had passed, her entire family had received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.   I had forgotten how much that experience changed my life too!  I had forgotten how bold it made me and how the Words of the Bible jumped off of the pages because the Holy Spirit illuminated them for me!

Reminder of my foundation.

Saturday morning my daughter and I helped another ministry feed some homeless people.  We didn’t do that much and we weren’t out on the street with them, but it made me yearn to do more.  I’m not sharing that for a pat on the back because I know people who dedicate their lives to help others.  I just threw a few crumbs.   But I want our daughter to be service minded.

I have a friend Pam who loves to challenge me (ahem, don’t you Pam?).   She has fussed at me for quite some time, “You need to be out on the streets!  You can help these people Beth!”  I get what she is saying.    I can offer them JESUS.

I just don’t know how to transition.  I need my husband with me.

Reminder of what is important.

I am praying God will show me ways to help others each week and restore to me the JOY of my first love.
