Psalm 42:1
As the deer longs for streams of water,
so I long for you, O God.

Even when I was a rebellious teen, I fell on my knees and prayed in my bedroom.  I really didn’t know God’s Word, but I prayed and  I cried out to Him.  Surely God must have planted a LONGING in my heart as a young child.   It is nothing I did or even knew how to desire on my own.

I just can’t be satisfied with a luke-warm life where I only mention Jesus while at church on Sunday.   The Holy Spirit lives within me and He is a part of everything I do and everywhere I go.

If you are a Christian, He is always with you too.

I don’t want to blend in with the world.    I hunger for MORE!  I desire God to consider me His friend and to be trustworthy with what He gives me.  I want to know His heart.   But ohhhhh, how the world pulls me.   Distractions and obligations are often tapping on my shoulder.

Why do I love the Lord?

Why wouldn’t I?

I know what it is like to be so bound by fear that I couldn’t leave my house.    I know how it feels to have my mind ravaged and tormented by the devil.   I was a slave, but now I am very close to being 100% free.   All residual effects are being washed away by the power of His Name and His Blood.

Psalm 56:8
You keep track of all my sorrows.
You have collected all my tears in your bottle.
You have recorded each one in your book.

God mercifully heard my cries (just as He hears yours).   He collected every tear that fell throughout my life.   I honestly don’t know who I would be today if I hadn’t experienced such torment.   Would I be a luke-warm Christian?  I certainly wouldn’t understand things about spiritual warfare and about the POWER  of God.

YES, MY SOUL LONGS FOR HIM …

He is my Rescuer!  Though I didn’t deserve it, He took pity on me and wooed me.

Yes, I desire my God.  I hunger for Him and His presence!

What does your soul long for?

Do you long for the things of this world or for the hidden things?
