I watched the MOST DISTURBING documentary last night!  It was entitled, “A Good Man.”  A story about an Australian farmer who married his girlfriend who while pregnant suffered a stroke and became a quadriplegic.  So far it sounds interesting, right?  He did an “honorable” thing to marry this young woman and take on such responsibility. The only part of her body she could move was her eyes and that is how they communicated.

The story switched to them going in the hole $200,000 to build a brothel.  I was amazed as the husband defended his desire to build this brothel to bring in money for his family.  It was disturbing to say the least.  The Christian community tried to stop them, but the family temporarily “won” the battle.  (The brothel did eventually go out of business much to the delight of the community people.)

I was bothered by a conversation the mother of the stroke victim had with the producer.  In front of her daughter she was saying how she no longer believed in God because “a god” would never do this to “his” children.   The daughter began to sob as the mother said, “He would have taken her on out instead of leaving her like this.”  One, that was just a cruel and heartless thing to say in front of a crippled daughter, but for her to blame God was so frustrating.  Just hearing the lack of the Holy Spirit in the lives of these people seemed so foreign to me.

The entire documentary was uncomfortable.

You know how it is to want to reach through the TV and witness to the people and shout the truth?!?!?

John 10:10
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

People blame God but they never look in His Word to see who is actually behind the suffering in this world.

So I went to bed a bit frustrated.

I want to scream sometimes.  Do you?

There is a lost and dying world.  How do we reach them?

This little blog is one way I can get some truth out into the airwaves.

I want to see people walking in freedom.

On a different subject, my Mom needs prayer.  She hasn’t been able to hold down her food (what little food she eats because she has no appetite).  I grabbed a nurse at the rehab today and said, “You’re a Christian, right?  Come pray in agreement with me for my Mom.”  She came in and shut the door.  We prayed together over Mama.

Matthew 18:19
Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.

I want to end this on a lighter note.  My Princess went with me to a Weight Watchers meeting today.  When we left she said, “Mommy, why are children skinnier than adults?”  Hmmm.  “Probably because adults have been around longer than children and they have had more years to eat food” I said.

Thankfully she waited until we were in the parking lot before she confessed her observation.

Thanks for visiting.  I know I’ve been rambling a lot lately — thanks for bearing with me.
